ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

From the perspective of the artist, there was also another difficulty. We would like to invite artists from all over Japan and abroad, but the cost of living during the performance tour is always a problem. So art residence became next issue. Again we were lucky to take over with a former workers’ dormitory that belonged to a company that went bankrupt several years ago in Kyoto. We could therefore open inexpensive residence in 2002 specially for artists. The ‘Kyoto stage performance association’ set up its office on the second floor so it functioned as a network station.
